I had set the alarm clock for 0830, but had difficulty getting up, I went to the Craft Class and Jacqui was busy sorting out lace for Christmas trees, so I did some of the knitting on the cardigan I had brought with me. However, Maureen soon sent Jacqui to me to get me started on the weaving process of my bracelets. Our table was very quiet as everyone was having to concentrate.
Afterwards, I met up with Mel, who was watching Bizet’s ‘Carmen’ on his laptop computer, performed by ‘Opera Australia’ and streamed from Sydney Harbour. (There was excellent WiFi and Web access on board for an extra charge).
I went out onto Deck 7 and sat in the sun, knitting. It was too windy to do my beads. Tables and chairs were getting blown physically around the swimming pools. I had a beefburger (no bun) with salad and then struggled to get down the side of the ship to be able to get inside to go for my pedicure appointment at 1415. I did not get back to the cabin until after 1600, as they said that my shoes would scuff the polish. It cost £23.50 for an ‘Express Pedicure’ of around 45 minutes. It all seemed very good value, especially as the varnish was included. I had lemon water, and had to stay for longer than expected for the varnish to dry. They then gave me some foam slippers to get myself back to the cabin, instead of wearing my Sketchers. (Mel was sufficiently impressed to subsequently get his own feet pedicured.) We did not go to Showtime after dinner, because we lose another hour tonight.
