Cruising

Mary wrote: The weather was much better today than originally forecast, at 22°C. I think it was the hottest, sunniest day so far. Mel got up early. I had told him not to wake me as we had lost an hour last night, and going to the show meant we had had a very late night. He had been for breakfast and had walked a mile before coming back into the cabin at around 0930. I woke up, but promptly went back to sleep again, and did not get up until 1030, so I went for breakfast in the Palms Café.

It was very sunny on deck, so I went back to change back into summer attire and met up with Mel in the cabin. He had been listening to various lectures in the Neptune Lounge, which I found dark and cold in the daytime. I went back on deck with my beads, writing, knitting and crosswords. We both had barbecue lunch – burger without the bun for me, with salad. I had put sun cream on as the weather is so hot.

My foot seems to be a bit better today, so hopefully will be OK for the Pineapple and Tea Plantation tour tomorrow. The weather is meant to be wet.

I finally got my bracelet weaving finished. There is one error still, but at least it is all my own work. I have looked on the Internet and have not found a sequence for 8 strands. I have learned a lot making this bracelet and hope to make a necklace when I get home.

We did not go to Showtime as Mel was not keen. It is Oscar from Funky Blue doing a solo act. I am just happy to get to bed before our last tour of the holiday. I don't think either of us slept well. The sea was meant to be rough with 4 metre waves, but they did not seem to materialise.
