Thursday 5th June. We travelled by train from Huntingdon, changing at Peterborough and York, and spending the night in a Travelodge near our dock in Liverpool.
Friday 6th June. We embarked on our cruse loner, Bolette, shown below, and sailed away overnight. We had a large two-berth cabin with an excellent bathroom.

Saturday 7th June. We arrived at Dun Laoghaire in Ireland at around 07:00, and spent the day exploring the area on foot, before sailing away at around 19:00.
Sunday 8th June. We arrived in Belfast, the home of the Harland & Wolff shipyard where the Titanic was built, at around 08:00, and spent the day taking a 2 hour coach trip in each direction to explore the famous Giant’s Causeway, in damp windy weather. The usual photographs of the Giants’ Causeway are only of the relatively small very best stretch, and do not do the very considerable area full justice, since it is quite extensive.

We sailed away later that evening.
Monday 9th June. We spent the day cruising past Malin Head, Arranmore, and the Slieve League Cliffs.
Tuesday 10th June. We spent the day ashore in Galway, and then sailed overnight.
Wednesday 11th June. We spent the day exploring the city of Cobh, setting sail again in the evening.
Thursday 12th June. We spent the entire day at sea on a beautiful calm ocean.
Friday 13th June. We reached Liverpool early in the morning and travelled home, re-tracing our out-bound route.
