Mel and I had drinks at the Bookmark Cafe and then went out onto Decks 7 and 8. We are not yet at the Canal which we are due to reach at 1300.
The second half of the Quarter Final of England versus Fiji in the Rugby World Cup was just about to start when we reached Deck 8. The score was 24/10 to England at half time. It got very tense when it got to 24 tied, but then England made it.
After the match had finished, we spent ¾ of an hour on deck as we were just passing under the first bridge of the Canal. Thankfully, it is still sunny, so much better for taking photos than yesterday. It has a lot of different bridges, all of which I have photographed. I hope to be able to identify them from the leaflet from Reception. Also a little bit of autumn colour is starting. We had a quick lunch and had a good view from the window in Palms Café, and I took some photos; but then my camera was requesting a battery charge, so I went and got my phone to try. I missed taking any photos of Chesapeake city, which seemed very attractive with lots of white fencing and with houses on stilts with moorings and gangways for boats.
Although it was Sunday and a nice day for the time of year, we did not see much less leisure use of the canal. One railway bridge was in the lifted position to let shipping through.
I had made a booking for ‘Colours and Tastes[ for tonight before I left home, at a cost of £10 per head extra. It would have been £15 if booked on the ship. We enjoyed the food we ordered. I am not sure of the names of the items, as I did not record them. The only down side was trying to use the cutlery we were given, which was all very heavy with long handles and was cumbersome to use. We are not going to tonight's show, as we need to be up early for breakfast, as we dock in Baltimore early this evening at 1900. Our tour to Washington DC start at 0830 tomorrow.
